2010: Master 2 internship, Laboratoire de Mécanique des Solides (LMS), École Polytechnique, supervisor : Andrei Constantinescu

I did my master thesis on the nonlinear viscoelastic properties of solid propergol under large prestrains. Solid propergols are propellants made of elastomers with a high density of solid elements. Their dynamical behaviour have to be predictable to ensure a continuous combustion and therefore a satisfying propulsion. The first step of this work was to model the influence of prestrain on uniaxial behaviour. This led to a first publication. Then, a way of extending the results to 2D behaviour was proposed and published in a second publication.

2008-2009: Volontariat International en Entreprise (VIE) - AREVA NP, OL3 EPR construction site (Finland), Engineering Technical Support Team

I joined the team for one year. It was a great experience and I am grateful to my supervisors for involving me in various tasks and giving me some responsabilities. My work covered special concrete formulation for nuclear applications, thermo-mecanical simulations, simulation of the evolution of temperature field in fresh concrete, supervision of concrete pouring of the inner-containment, leading experimental compaigns on drying of concrete, participation on a creep and shrinkage experimental campaign in collaboration with VTT Technical Research Center of Finland.
